Bleed vs. Safe Zone
In print, bleed is artwork extended past the final trim or cut line, typically 1/8 inch on small print and up to 1 inch on large-format wraps. Safe zone is the area inside the trim where text, logos, and critical design elements must stay so they aren't accidentally trimmed or hidden by panel seams or wrap edges. Both ensure the finished piece looks intentional regardless of small variations in cutting or installation.
Why it matters for your project
On a wall wrap, ignoring bleed means visible white slivers at the wrap edges. Ignoring safe zone means your headline gets cut off where two panels seam together. Designers should always start with the wall dimensions plus 1" bleed on all sides and keep critical type 4" off the edges.
