Rush & Same-Day
Same-day printing in Las Vegas: what actually works
Cutoffs, capacity, format choice, and how to actually get same-day print done in Vegas without paying triple.
“Same-day” is the most abused phrase in the print industry. This is what it actually means at a real Vegas production floor — published cutoffs, real capacity, and the questions to ask any vendor before you wire the deposit.
The cutoff is the whole game
Same-day is not magic. It’s capacity scheduled around a hard cutoff. At our shop: 9am for screen print (144 shirts by 5pm), 11am for DTF (200 transfers by 5pm), 10am for embroidery (24 pieces by 5pm), 10am for large-format signage. A vendor without a published cutoff is improvising — and improvisation is what makes deadlines slip.
DTF vs screen for same-day
Screen printing is faster per-shirt at scale but slower to set up. DTF is the opposite — slower per shirt but zero setup. For same-day under 100 pieces with 2+ colors or photo art, DTF wins. For same-day 100+ pieces of a simple 1–2 color design, screen wins.
What slows down same-day
Three things kill same-day jobs: unapproved art (we can’t print what we can’t flight-check), out-of-stock garments (always confirm before approving), and last-minute color changes (a Pantone change at 1pm is a different job than a Pantone change at 9am).
The right questions to ask
Is the cutoff published or improvised? Is the garment in stock at your shop, not at a wholesaler? Will I get a digital proof before the press starts? Is there a rush fee, and is it itemized? Is pickup or delivery included? A vendor that can’t answer all five doesn’t run real same-day.
