13oz vs 18oz: which vinyl do you actually need?

13oz scrim vinyl is the default for ~80% of banner jobs: indoor signage, trade show booths, short-term outdoor (under 6 months), event banners, sponsor banners. It prints sharp, weighs little, and ships rolled. 18oz is for high-wind outdoor, multi-year exterior signage, and fence-mounted banners that take a beating from the desert sun. Spec 18oz when the banner will see direct sun for a year-plus or wind speeds above 25 mph. Otherwise 13oz saves money and prints just as sharp.

Finishing: hems, grommets, pole pockets

Every vinyl banner we ship is hemmed on all four sides and grommetted every 24 inches by default. We add pole pockets on the top, bottom, or both at no extra cost when requested — say so on the order. Reinforced corners are standard on banners over 30 sq ft. We can also add D-rings, webbing-reinforced edges, or wind-slits on banners destined for high-wind outdoor mounting.

Sizing for Vegas venues

Most of our vinyl banner volume goes to three places: the Las Vegas Convention Center, Mandalay Bay, and exterior storefronts on the Strip. Standard convention banner sizes are 8×3 ft (back-wall trim), 10×3 ft (sponsor strips), and 4×8 ft (vertical drop banners). Strip storefront banners run 12×4 to 20×6 ft for window-front installs. Pole-mounted banners for city light poles are typically 24×60 inches. If you tell us where it's going, we'll spec the right size.

Same-week installation

Vinyl banners are the easiest banner format to install: zip-tie through grommets, bungee through pole pockets, or staple to a wood frame. Our crew handles installs at every major Vegas venue — including drayage at LVCC and union coordination at Mandalay Bay.
