Glossary
Large Format Printing
Large format printing covers any printed output beyond standard 24-inch press width. This includes banners, vehicle wraps, building wraps, trade-show graphics, retractable banners, posters, and any signage produced on roll-fed or flatbed printers. Equipment ranges from 60-inch desktop printers up to 16-foot industrial roll machines and flatbeds capable of printing on 4x8 ft rigid sheets.
Why it matters for your project
Large format is what your trade-show booth, banner stand, and back-wall graphic are produced on. Quality varies dramatically — 600 dpi roll-printer output looks rough at close range, while 1200 dpi UV-flatbed output is photographic. Always ask what equipment is producing your work and what resolution it's printing at.
